Excitation of the 1Δu(V1B2) state of carbon disulfide by electron impact in the 3–12 eV energy range

Excitation of the valence 1Δu(V1B2) state of carbon disulfide (CS2) has been studied by an electron impact optical method detecting molecular fluorescence emission in the 300–600 nm wavelength region. It has been found that in the 3–12 eV electron energy range excitation of the 1Δu(V1B2) state proceeds with a significant contribution of core-excited shape resonances.
