Abstract
We argue that for non-interacting, identical particles that are neither completely separated spatially, nor fully entangled like in an ideal gas, their wave functions are not fully symmetric or anti-symmetric to particle exchanges. They do not obey Fermi, Bose or Boltzmann distribution. A new expression for the wave function and a new statistical distribution are introduced to describe such particles.
