Abstract
This paper reports a simple and reproducible technique for the synthesis of silver organosol. Hexadecylamine in molten condition has been exploited as a solvent for silver acetate, which finally imparts stability to the silver nanoparticles as a capping agent. The organosol show unique stability and both agglomeration and oxidation do not take place over the year. Finally, the particles were found to be a substrate for surface enhanced Raman scattering study while crystal violet is used as a Raman probe.
