Recent advance in surface treatment and its applications in China

A recent advance in surface treatment and its applications in China is briefly reviewed. The development of new technologies for surface treatment is introduced. The results of surface modifications of materials by ion implantation, MEVVA source ion implantation, plasma source ion implantation, ion beam assisted deposition, and double-glow discharge surface alloying are reported. Applications of surface treatment by new technology in industry, agriculture, biology, biomaterials, aviation, defense and space are introduced also.
