Abstract
In surface engineering, impulse plasma is used in the synthesis and deposition of various materials in the form of layers. To describe phenomena in the IPD (impulse plasma deposition) plasma accelerator, physical and computational models have been proposed in previous works. In the present study, the real shape of the current sheet, as well as its dynamics, were examined experimentally with the help of high-speed CCD frame cameras. The results obtained prove that not only a qualitative, but even a semi-quantitative correlation between the model and observations exists.
