Abstract
Porous titania coatings were deposited from aqueous solution containing titanium isopropoxide using the solution precursor plasma spray (SPPS) process. Effects of plasma power on coating microstructure and phase composition were investigated. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectra analyses indicated that the amount of anatase and rutile phases in the as-sprayed coatings can be adjusted by simply changing the plasma power. With the increase of plasma power, the coating anatase content decreases and the rutile content increases. Scanning electron microscope characterization shows that all of the as-sprayed coatings are very porous.
