Abstract
A new family of N2O2-tetradentate ligands and complexes derived thereof, based on Meldrum’s acid and diamines, has been developed. The structure of 7b has been unequivocally established by an X-ray crystallographic study. The general strategy has been successfully applied to the synthesis of a tridentate ligand that when reacted with Et2Zn resulted in the formation of a coordinatively linked dimer.
