Pulsed Doppler echocardiographic evidence of impaired left ventricular filling in cyanotic adults with nonrestrictive ventricular septal defects with and without pulmonary vascular obstructive disease

In conclusion, cyanotic adults with nonrestrictive ventricular septal defects have impaired left ventricular filling despite normal biventricular systolic function. We believe the cause is related in large part to myocardial fibrosis.
