  • Abstract
The velocity and temperature profiles of two-phase flow falling down vertical plates are derived analytically, which extend over the liquid and gas phases and consider the sharp change of the physical quantities at the interface. It is found that the velocity profile is dependent on the viscosity ratio of the gas phase to the liquid phase, while independent of not only the Reynolds and Froude numbers but also the density ratio of the gas phase to the liquid phase. On the other hand, the temperature profile is dependent on the thermal conductivity ratio, while independent of the Prandtl number and the specific heat ratio of the gas phase to the liquid phase. In addition, the heat and fluid flow characteristics of the two-phase flow are clarified for the effect of the viscosity and thermal conductivity ratios.
