Abstract
Relativistic configuration interaction calculations have been carried out to investigate the electronic structure and spectroscopy of InF+. Potential energy curves of 22 low-lying doublet and quartet states of the ion are constructed. Three doublets, X2Σ+, B2Σ+, and C2Π are spectroscopically significant. The radiative lifetimes for B2Σ+–X2Σ+ and C2Π–X2Σ+ transitions are estimated. Transition probabilities of the parallel and perpendicular transitions of B 2 Σ 1 / 2 + – X 2 Σ 1 / 2 + and C 1 2 Π 1 / 2 – X 2 Σ 1 / 2 + have been compared. The radiative lifetime for the ( C 2 2 Π 3 / 2 – X 2 Σ 1 / 2 + ) ⊥ transition has been calculated. Dipole moments of X2Σ+, B2Σ+, and C2Π are computed by keeping the origin at the center of mass. The computed vertical ionization energies of InF are also reported.
