Abstract
In this work, the modified UNIFAC model recently proposed by the authors is extended to the prediction of Henryʹs constants of liquids and gases in polymers by using the SRK equation of state with an EOS/GE mixing rule (MHV1). For liquid/polymer systems, the modified UNIFAC shows improved predictions over both the original UNIFAC and the UNIFAC-FV. For gas/polymer systems, it gives much better accuracy than the original UNIFAC, while application of the UNIFAC-FV to such systems is troublesome. As a result, the present work provides a simple and useful model for the prediction of Henryʹs constants for polymer-containing systems including those containing supercritical fluids.
