Abstract
P3-L4 calculations were performed on cylindrical plexiglass moderated neutron pulsed system using the synthetic kernel developed by Granada et al. [Phys. Rev. B 31 (1985) 4167; Phys. Rev. A 36 (1987) 5585] and applied to plexiglass by Sibona et al. [Ann. Nucl. Energy 18 (1991) 689]. A special procedure has been developed to correct the kernel for satisfying the condition of detailed balance. The calculations show an acceptable agreement with the high precision measurements of Drozdowicz and Woźnicka [INP Rep. 1319/AP, Krakow (1986); J. Phys. D 20 (1987) 985] on the dependence of the decay rate vs geometrical dimension. Predictions of the temperature dependence of this function are given, facilitating further experimental checks of the kernel.
