Planar pick-up electrodes for stochastic cooling

A new planar pick-up structure for the frequency band from 1 to 2 GHz is developed for the planned collector ring (CR) of the new GSI project. The contribution presents calculations of signal and noise performance as well as first measurements of a model structure. The measurements are compared with field theoretical calculations. The numerical signal and noise calculations were done using an equivalent lumped element circuit model.
