Abstract
The transmission of X-rays with photon energy from 4050 to 5950 eV was measured for titanium using thin-film samples and a synchrotron radiation, K-edge was included. Four titanium samples with different thickness were used, and ratio of transmission through different samples was used to obtain the photoabsorption cross-section. The K-edge has width of 20±2 eV, compared to zero in all X-ray tables based on atomic form factors. The values we got far from the edge were in good agreement with published data. Those within 300 eV of the edge were larger than published data, due to the fine structure. The uncertainty in the measurements comes mainly from uncertainty in the density and the thickness of the titanium thin films.
