  • Abstract
It has been suggested that two unused linac-accelerating sections, which are at Jefferson Laboratory could be transferred to CAMD. These sections are identical to the ones presently in use here. The addition of one of these sections to the CAMD linac would allow the injection energy to be increased to about 275 MeV. A study is being conducted of the implications of this scheme, covering: modifications to the transport line; upgrading the injection kicker systems; extra space requirements; and upgrades to other systems associated with the linac. The high-energy injection upgrade will help to overcome the vertical aperture restriction of new insertion devices, to improve the ion clearing if any ion trapping occurs, to decrease the synchrotron radiation damping times, etc. In the paper, the specifications of the linac will be given, and the parameters of the storage ring at injection energy will be posed based on the current lattice configurations.
