Abstract
The Canadian Light Source is commissioning a mid-infrared (mid-IR) beamline to support a user facility for spectromicroscopy in the areas of biological and materials sciences. The bend magnet beamline on port 01B1-1 obtained first light in 2005 and beam transport to the spectrometer in 2006. The beamline spans the mid-IR region (2.5–25 μm wavelengths) using a Bruker Optics IFS66vs FTIR spectrometer and Hyperion microscope. Spectromicroscopic imaging at diffraction-limited spatial resolution and Photoacoustic Spectroscopy are major applications of the facility. The beamline optics, current performance and status of the facility are presented.
