Abstract
In this work, several well-known perturbation term of equation of state are reviewed and applied to establish different equations of state for chainlike fluids based on Hu et al.’s equation of state for hard-sphere chain fluids (HSCFs). The selected perturbation terms include Song–Lambert–Prausnitz model, Cotterman–Schwarz–Prausnitz model, O’Lenick–Chiew model, Gross–Sadowski model, Guo–Wang–Lu model, Chen–Kreglewski model, and Alder–Young–Mark model. Each equation of state is characterized by three molecular parameters, namely, the number of segments per molecule, segment size, and interaction energy between segments. Consequently, we simplified these equations of state to apply conveniently to polymers. The model parameters have been obtained by fitting pVT data of polymers. A comparison is also made with each other based on experimental data.
