  • Abstract
    The chemical reactivity of the clean Si(100)(2 × 1)-surface was studied by means of photoelectron spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations. Assuming an analogous reactivity of the Si(100)(2 × 1)-surface and disuene molecular compounds, new concepts for a defined coupling of organic molecules to silicon surfaces were tested by applying well-known disuene reactions to the Si(100)(2 × 1)-surface.
