Abstract
Based on analyses using the θ approach, the relationship between the time to reach Monkman–Grant ductility (tMGD) and the time to failure (tf) is deduced as tMGD/tf = constant, which is shown to be similar to that obtained following the continuum damage mechanics approach. Results obtained on Incoloy MA957 are discussed in the light of these relationships.
