Abstract
An extensive family of organic/inorganic materials formed by TTF and oxalato-bridged bimetallic clusters is reported. These hybrid molecular materials, formulated as (TTF)4MII(H2O)2[MIII(ox)3]2.nH2O (MIII = Cr and Fe; MII = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn), show layers of oxalato-bridged MIII]-M[suII-MIII turners alternating with layers of TTF+ cations presenting, for the first time, a 1-D κlike phase. The magnetic properties show ferro- and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions in the Cr2MII and Fe2MII series, respectively.
