Abstract
A polypyrrole modified electrode loaded with Pyrocatechol Violet (PCV) was used for the extraction and then electroanalysis of copper species by anodic stripping differential pulse voltammetry. The logarithm of peak current was found to be linearly related to the logarithm of copper concentration. Reproducibility of determination of copper species by this modified electrode was estimated as RSD to be about ±8% and the detection limit was estimated to be about 0.1 μM. The effects of counter ions doped in the polymer, background current of the polymer redox reaction and morphology of the polymeric film on the electrode response were examined.
