Advanced titanium-based alloys

The development of titanium-based alloys, including conventional metallic alloys and various titanium aluminides (i.e. Ti3Al-based alloys, so-called orthorhombic alloys and TiAl-based alloys), continues. In the case of aero-engine applications, which have provided a constant stimulus for the titanium alloy development community, a significant payoff is now expected from the recent research and development effort conducted on the above titanium aluminides.
