In recent years substantial experimental and theoretical progress has been made in our knowledge of the thermodynamic and kinetic behaviour of domain boundaries and interfaces in order—disorder transitions. Recent advances include quantatitive studies of this behaviour at equilibrium of domain walls close to a phase transition and numerical simulations of the kinetics of ordering reactions and microstructural evolutions
