Particle pack influence on highly filled material properties

Models of particulate and granular material behavior are advancing rapidly as computational and experimental proficiency increase. Because of greater model sophistication, more particle pack microgeometric information can be utilized, which can result in more accurate property predictions. Particle packs are specified by a number of characterizing parameters and functions. Required advances in pack characterization and the prospects of their utilization by particulate and granular material models are discussed.
