Abstract
An empirical linear relationship Tg = (0.56 ± 0.05)Tm has been established for metallic glasses. This relationship provides a reasonable estimate of the glass transition temperatue Tg for a metallic system whose melting temperature is known. From this estimate, the temperature dependence of the viscosity and the critical cooling rate for amorphization can be derived.
