Abstract
In the present study, the tensile behavior at temperatures of 298–673 K of an ultrafine-grained Al–7.5% Mg alloy processed via consolidation of cryomilled powders was investigated. The Al–Mg alloy exhibits an intrinsic behavior that is similar to that of other mechanically alloyed aluminum alloys. The microstructure of the Al–Mg alloy shows a high thermal stability with insignificant grain growth after high-temperature testing. The deformation behavior of the ultrafine-grained Al–7.5% Mg was discussed in the context of relevant deformation mechanisms at elevated temperatures.
