Abstract
The SiCN polycrystalline nanorods were firstly produced from the mixture of polytitanosilazane and silicon powder. The morphology, composition and structure of the polycrystalline nanorod were analyzed by SEM, TEM with EDS, and XRD. The diameters of the nanorods range from 10–200 nm and lengths are several micrometers. A vapor-solid growth mechanism is proposed. The SiCN nanorods transform to more stable phase Si3N4 at higher temperature.
