Abstract
Multi-component [(Fe1−x−yCoxNiy)0.75B0.25Si0.05]96Nb4 glassy alloys were found to exhibit distinct glass transition over the whole composition range, followed by a supercooled liquid region (ΔTx) in the range of 40–65 K before crystallization. The saturation magnetization (Is) is in the range of 0.3–1.1 T and coercive force (Hc) is in the range of 1–3 A/m. Bulk glassy alloys with diameters in the range up to 4 mm were successfully synthesized. The bulk glassy alloys also exhibit high Vickers hardness of 1100–1240, high fracture strength (σf) of 3700–4250 MPa, and high Youngʹs modulous (E) of 170–210 GPa combined with true elastic strain (ɛe) of 0.02 and true plastic strain (ɛp) of 0.0025–0.005.
