Abstract
Optical data transmission via fibre optic light wave links is considered to play a major role in the readout of tracking detectors for LHC. Sampled analogue signals have to be brought off the detector module. A reflective analogue optical link based on multiple quantum well modulators (MQWM) has been tested in the lab and in a particle beam at CERN using the data of a FELIX128 CMOS front end chip. The data was simultaneously read out via a conventional copper cable as a reference.
