Abstract
One of the most important contributions to the full energy resolution of the scintillation detector is intrinsic resolution. A major role is played by the non-statistic noises of light collection. Theoretical studies of light collection features in detectors with regular and/or chaotic ray dynamics have been well carried out. In the framework of dynamic model, new universal spectrometry laws for light collection have been predicted. The law for regular yield has been well confirmed by the experimental data. It has been proven that spectrometric resolution of the regular light collection is better than in the chaotic case, as its dispersion is substantially lower. Therefore, in spectrometry of high energies and/or for large-sized detectors, it is preferable to use mirror boundaries, to choose a regular geometry (sphere, parallelepiped, cylinder), and to make the scintillator free from internal light scattering sources. The developed theory allows to estimate and to eliminate the light noises in scintillation detectors.
