An investigation of rock breakage and damage in comminution equipment

The aggregate industry must produce material of a size, shape and competency that satisfies increasingly stringent standards. It is important to understand the way in which particles are broken and to recognise that the method of particle comminution affects the competency of the progeny particles. This paper examines the effects of different forms of crushing and the differences observed in the competency of material as it progresses through various stages of crushing.
