Abstract
Nonstandard compression and creep of some (geo)materials are presented. Nonstandard behaviour depends on the combination of some special configuration of soil structure and state parameters (density, water content, stress level, etc.). The present study, based on laboratory tests, presents some examples of nonstandard behaviour. This is mostly the result of grain breakage and bonding–debonding mechanism. It is practically important to study the nonstandard behaviour to show the pitfalls of the routine approach.
