Perspective for fusion nuclear technology of universities in Japan

The present status and perspective of the fusion nuclear technology of Japanese universities are surveyed in this paper. The emphasis in university research is placed on the long ranged subjects for fusion power reactors as well as for ITER. The network system recently constructed in the field of fusion engineering is expected to promote collaborative research among universities, to discuss the necessary urgent projects and to establish the hosting core research centers.
