Abstract
The EAST device (original name is HT-7U) is a superconducting tokamak being constructed at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP).
roidal field (TF) magnet system of the device consists of 16 D-shaped TF coils made of NbTi cable-in-conduit conductor. The nominal operating current of the coil is 14.3 kA.
planned to test all TF coils at cryogenic temperature in 2004. The test program includes a number of items, such as cryogenic-hydraulic performances, electro-magnetic characteristics and quench current measurements. The measurement results and coil performance evaluation are presented in this paper.
