Abstract
This paper presents a new advanced wall model dedicated to the simulation of flow in an aerothermodynamic context. It consists in the resolution of a system of 1D boundary layer equations on each wall-cell. The numerical integration of the system is achieved through a recurrence procedure. A simple closure formulation is retained for the system, based on a mixing length model. Because of the dependency on the temperature and velocity profiles of the closure formulation, iterative loops involving substitution and Newton methods are used. The new wall model is compared to conventional wall functions already existing in the ONERA code CEDRE. Four validation cases highlight the progress realized by the model and demonstrate the ability of this wall function to make accurate predictions on coarse meshes.
