Abstract
of Banach spaces with range in Lipschitz algebras $\lip_\al(X)$ is
provided. Necessary and sufficient conditions are established to
ensure boundedness and (weak) compactness of these operators.
Finally, a lower bound for the essential norm of such operators is
obtained.
