  • Abstract
    Homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) is a new method for decreasing the emissions and fuel consumption rate in internal combustion engine. There have been done many researches on these engines as a replacing method for conventional diesel engine, because of strict laws and standards on produced emissions. The research in hand will scrutinize the homogeneous charge combustion, dual fuel and natural gas and also diesel through 3D modeling and CFD. In this work diesel fuel is sprayed in cylinder by direct injection. Therefore to achieve a homogeneous mixture, fuel is injected early during compression stroke. In dual fuel mode, diesel was injected directly into the cylinder and natural gas inducted as a gaseous fuel. The results show that the inlet temperature plays an important role in the vaporization of liquid fuel and improvement of combustion. In dual fuel mode with decreasing of inlet temperature and increase in gaseous fuel, and also increase in power and thermal efficiency, with considering the standards, the amount of exhaust emissions will be acceptable.
