Abstract
Introduction One of the rare problems in newborns is ascites. Almost 30 percent of neonatal ascites is caused by urinary disease. The most common cause is urinary tract obstruction from posterior urethral valve. Case Report In this case report, we present a two-day boy with urinary ascites at Akbar hospital Mashhad, Iran, it was initially thought the ascites have liver origin.
Conclusion In conclusion the causes of the ascites should be determined for treatment management. This can be achieved by analysis of the ascites fluid. Although urinary ascites is a very rare condition, it needs rapid management to gain a good outcome.
