The Empirical Analysis of The Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Employment: SADC Countries*

In this study, the impact of foreign direct investment on unemployment rates of some SADC countries (Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, South African, Tanzania, Zambia ve Zimbabwe) is tired to be determined. Unemployment is one of the most important problems in many countries. Because, long-term unemployment affects the economic growth negatively and causes to the social events. Therefore politicians try to enhance foreign direct investment and employment. In the present study, panel dynamic least squares method was made and also “Vent for Surplus Theory” was examined. This analysis involves the years 1992 to 2013 between. At the results of the analysis I reach the conclusion that there is a pozitive relation between the foreign direct investment and the employment in SADC countries related with the scope of the research
