Myth and Power

Myth is a subject matter of different disciplines. Chronologically first of all philologists, then, religious historians and anthropologists focused on it. Differences between disciplines naturally include either separate questions or approachs and methods. However, most of the researchs from different disciplines are subject to from problems produced by myth-logos opposition. This contrast and related studies are the very real obstacles against the fundamental relity of myth. If it is disregarded, the most important issue is to disguise the specific relationship of myth with power. Although the studies, especially anthropological ones, mostly concern the relationship of myth with power, this relation becomes underestimated without regarding disputable aspect of this opposition. The main aim of this paper is to consider myth-logos dichotomy, to demonstrate how it affects the studies from different disciplines concerning myths and then to analyze the ‘specific’ relation between myth and power.
