Abstract
Filtered neutron beams enable high accuracy measurements of smooth total andradioactive cross-section in the energy range few keV up to 1 MeV. Thesemeasurements are important in the calculation and design of reactors as well as in thestudies of nuclear physics, astrophysics, and safety analysis. Neutron filters are alsoused in calibration of neutron detectors as well as in boron neutron capture therapy. Inthis work a simulation study to produce 18 neutron filters covering the whole keVenergy region with their optimum configurations are presented. The transmitted purityof the proposed filters is over 95%, which can be used with any neutron sourcespectrum.
