Abstract
Several cryptographic solutions have been proposed by the researchers against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks in wireless LANs (WLANs). These solutions usually involve processing at the access point (AP). Detect and Reduce DoS Attacks (DRDA) is one such scheme that involves cryptographic operations. Network simulator (NS2) is a tool used for extensive study and analysis purpose. Unfortunately, very less WLAN cryptographic solutions are implemented and studied using NS2. Even most of the cryptographic authentication solutions are not analysed using NS2. The aim of this paper is twofold: One is to implement and study a cryptographic solution using NS2. Second is to validate the DRDA scheme using NS2 simulations. © School of Engineering,Taylor’s University.
