Abstract
In this work, operating parameters used for supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of essential oils of herbal plant materials were studied. Mint (Mentha piperita, spearmint type); which is one of the most common pharmaceutical plant materials was selected for experiments and extraction of essential oil Effects of various parameters such as pressure and temperature of operation, particles size, supercritical solvent flow rate, and extraction time on extraction yield are studied. Optimum conditions for maximum yield are reported.
