  • Abstract
    In the Social Studies Curriculum, which took effect in the year 2005, the use of qualityeducation and training strategies was emphasized for high quality education and training, andthere were some recommendations on raising children in accordance with the requirements ofthe modernage. Today there are many studies which draw attention to the fact that every studenthas a different learning styleby emphasizing the individual differences students have. In thesestudies the fact that many learning styles models and the indiviual`s learning show differencelike fingerprints is underlined, and it is stated in many parts of this study that students have visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. Again in this study, which was conductedusing qualitative research, it was examined whether or not the materials in the 7 Grade SocialStudies Textbooks, Workbooks and Teacher`s Guide Books were prepared by taking account ofstudents` learning styles. As a result of the examination, the contents of the books mentionedwere discovered to lack a planned approach towards students` learning styles. Necessarysuggestions have been offered following the research.
