EXPECTATIONS OF THE CLASSROOM TEACHERS FROM PLAY AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES LESSON

In this research is to be determined expectations of classroom teachers achieving the goal of play and physical activities lesson in primary school. In research, the interview method of qualitative research methods were used. The research sample, in the 2007- 2008 Academic Year Spring Semester and who volunteered to participate in research work in the city center of Ankara, 12 (6 males, 6 females) consisted of classroom teachers. Qualitative data, 12 teachers participated in the research via face to face interviews were done with, qualitative data in the framework of certain concepts and themes have been interpreted together. As a result, expectations of classroom teachers are as below; gymnasium should be done and play and physical activities equipment and materials should be provided, physical education teachers should be entered the play and physical activities lesson from primary school first class, classroom teachers should be given concerning to this lesson seminars and in-service training courses, classroom teachers’ in this lesson shouldn’t do the other lessons and information and skills should develop concerning to this lesson.
