  • Abstract
    The aim of this study is to determine the effect of argumentation on 8th grade students’ conceptual understanding and willingness for argumentation. For this purpose, quasiexperimental pattern with pre-test and posttest control group was used in the research. The sample was conducted with 34 students in total, 16 of whom were in the experiment group and 18 of whom were in the control group, who were studying at a primary school. The data of the research was collected via conceptual understanding test and Willingness for argumentation test.The study was completed in totally 8 weeks (in a style as 4 discipline hours in a week). Obtained data was analyzed through the analysis program SPSS15. T test which use analysis was used for group points obtained from willingness for argumentation test. Wilcoxon test from which use nonparametric analysis was used for group points obtained from conceptual understanding test. At the end of the implementation, it was obviously realized that there was a difference between willingness of argumentation and conceptual understanding test and students’ misconception decreased high rate.
