Abstract
The article tries to emphasize men’s experience in the cases of violence against women. The men’s part of the story is mostly not addressed in the current studies even though it is very crucial. Although violence against women has been accepted as a crucial subject on the political level, it still requires a more intensive debate and has to be fully explored. This is is an even more notable requirement in Turkey. Hereby the article aims to present a new theoretical perspective through a critical review of literature and to propose a new approach that can connect both the literature on violence against women and masculinity studies effectively. It is understood that these two bodies of literature share a common problem of a missing approach that makes a connection between violence against women and other forms of violence, and sees violence in relation to the changing social power structures and its effect on men.
