  • Abstract
    Mg-basedmaterialsareregardedasoneofthemostpromisingcandidatesforhydrogenstorage.Inordertoclarifytherelationshipbetweenthestructuresandpropertiesaswellastounderstandthereactionandformationmechanisms,itisbeneficialtoobtainusefulinformationaboutthesize,morphology,andmicrostructureofthestudiedmaterials.Herein,theuseofscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)andtransmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM)techniquesfortherepresentationofMg-basedhydrogenstoragematerialsisdescribed.ThebasicprinciplesofSEMandTEMarepresentedandthecharacterizationsofthesize,morphologyobservation,phaseandcompositiondetermination,andformationandreactionmechanismsclarificationofMg-basedhydrogenstoragematerialsarediscussed.TheapplicationsofadvancedSEMandTEMplaysignificantrolesintheresearchanddevelopmentofthenext-generationhydrogenstoragematerials.
