  • Abstract
    Antidotes are physiologic and chemical antagonists that prevent or reverse toxic effect of the poisonings. Actually, antidotes have high manufacturing costs in spite of they are vital drugs. That’s why antidotes are also called orphan drugs. There are some troubles to reach antidotes in adequate amount in urgent cases of poisonings. For all that, the proper use of antidotes in the hospitals can reduce morbidity and mortality caused by severe poisonings. Because of that to keep handy of adequate antidotes in the stocks of the appointed centers is essential. In this review, antidotes that mostly known will be evaluated under the light of recent literature.
