Makanan dan Kepercayaan Tentang Etiologi Penyakit: Kes Orang Melayu Kelantan

This study investigates some aspects of nutriment from cultural perspective with special reference to Kelantanese cultural practices as a case study. Issues that have been investigated are the supernatural belief elements related to nutriment as the cause of deceases, why and how nutriment has being used to injurious other people, and the beliefs on supernatural beings that could bring deceases to human kind. The sources of this investigation are information gathered from field works among the Kelantanese Malay for more than fifteenth years since 1990s untill to the dates. It is found that there are certain quarters who use nutriment as ruinous weapon to harm other people as a way to achieve what they want for those people that have been their victims. The effect of this behaviour and also the beliefs on supernatural beings has created social disharmony.
